Starring Oscar-nominated Norma Aleandro (GABY), this gloriously irreverent family comedy fuses brilliant characterization and unrelenting humor to rework the age-old story of meeting the parents with a hilarious modern twist. With its astute blend of warmth and humor, ONLY HUMAN is able to address head-on some of today’s most salient issues: the meaning of family and community in an ever-shrinking world and the challenges and consequences at stake when cultures clash within our very homes..
When Leni comes home to introduce her fiancé Rafi to her idiosyncratic Jewish family, everything goes smoothly until the lovers belatedly reveal that Rafi is Palestinian. Amid the ensuing hysteria, Rafi escapes to the kitchen, ostensibly to help prepare the dinner. Unfortunately, he drops the soup he was meant to defrost out of the seventh floor window, hitting a pedestrian below, and as if the evening’s not going badly enough, it turns out the pedestrian may be Leni’s father...

“A MOVIE RARITY – A TRULY GREAT FARCE. It’s amazing. ABOVE ALL, IT MAKES YOU LAUGH OUT LOUD – A LOT.” – Richard Schickel, Time Magazine

“Carried out with an assurance that Hollywood comedies haven’t displayed since, maybe, ‘Tootsie’. Think of it as ‘Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner as directed by a combination of Billy Wilder and Pedro Almodovar.” – Gene Seymour, Newsday

“A vigorously paced modern screwball comedy with a refreshingly light touch.” – Laura Kern, New York Times

“A wacky, appealing Spanish comedy. Everyone whose families boast an excess of opinions will relate, no matter what their background.” – Elizabeth Weitzman, New York Daily News

“A manic Spanish farce that moves briskly, with several laugh-out-loud moments.” – V.A. Musetto, New York Post

“HYSTERICALLY FUNNY. It maintains a lightning-fast pace that Hollywood comedies have long since abandoned. The actors are the cream of Spanish comic talent” - Andrew O’Hehir, Salon

“LIKE ‘GUESS WHO’S COMING TO DINNER’ AS DIRECTED BY PEDRO ALMODOVAR FROM A SCREENPLAY BY WOODY ALLEN. A fast-moving farce executed with brio.” – Tom Beer, Time Out New York

"THE LAUGHS KEEP COMING!. Brisk, bright and filled with enough laughs that it will likely inspire a Hollywood remake." - Bob Mondello, NPR

“FUNNY, OFFBEAT AND UNUSUAL. I really liked this film.” – Jeffrey Lyons, WNBC Reel Talk

“Hilarious.” – Jim Ridley, Village Voice

“A SEAMLESS, ROLLICKING RIDE.” – Eric Kohn, New York Press

“IRREPRESSIBLY HILARIOUS! An entertaining comedy that will leave you in stitches.” Marta Barber, Miami Herald

“Surprisingly enjoyable. It makes the most of its simple premise by supplying solid laughs.” – Bilge Ebiri, New York Magazine
